What is your vision for the First Poet's Church of the Latter Day Egyptian
Revisionists? I've posted my vision on the blog:

But I need to hear input from you as you will comprise the board of
The Last Poets Obiodun, Ayodele Nzinga, Marvin X, Omar Ben Hasan,
and drummer.
ministers and be involved in the operation of this project.
Let's get together in a few days for a meeting at my house that can serve as
the church office and meeting place until we are able to expand.
Next Sunday we have been invited to the Center of Hope Church by Rev.
BlandonReems who took us into Juvenile Hall. His church is having International
Day and we are asked to dress ethnic or African.
11am in the service. The Center of Hope is located of MacArthur Blvd, next to
Castlemont High School. Let me know if you plan to attend. This church visit
should be seen as our outreach to other spiritual
workers. Also, Center of Hope has asked us to produce a Writing Workshop at
their church.
Thank you all for participating Saturday. For me, it was a wonderful event and
all of you were excellent. Someone present asked about us performing at Allen
Temple, so we will be checking into that. Allen Temple has their own theatre,
but we need to work out the booking arrangements as we must be paid for our work
when possible.
One thing I'd like you to consider as you vision: a poet's church is a ministry
of writers, artists, so we should plan a block of time to insure we have time to
follow our bliss. In short, we must be able to write above all else.
This must be a part of the structure of our ritual. There is nothing worse than
a frustrated artist, so we want people to have time to be creative, then
fellowship and outreach.
Happy New Year in the Egyptian calendar!
Love,
Marvin X,
Minister of Poetry
